Food and family go together. Some wonderful stories are shared while enjoying recipes that have been passed down through the family. This can be a great opportunity to bring ancestors to life, find out details you didn't know, encourage curiosity in younger generations and (of course) to taste delicious history. Nancy Howard will introduce you to the Menard Family Kuchen, a simple German coffee cake, and how she is using it to engage with her son, nephew and niece about their German ancestry. Ideas for ways to do this will be presented. Janet Tarolli will share clips from a 2007 video recording of her family making apple strudel from scratch in the Croatian manner, including stretching the dough. Elements to consider when planning your own video project will be discussed.
